CANNES -- Paramount has bumped up the release of?Transformers: Dark of the Moon?from July 1 to June 29.?

Insiders say the plan was always to move the film from the Friday slot to a Wednesday opening.
Transformers: Dark of the Moon?is the first film in the series to be shot in 3D, which director?Michael Bay?says was "fun" to work with but "not easy."
Bay unveiled 20 minutes of the action sequel Wednesday evening at a "3D: A Transforming Visual Art" event co-hosted by Paramount and The Hollywood Reporter. THR's Borys Kit called the footage "impressive,"?saying the film's prologue immediately sucks viewers in "with a big rush coming from the 3D."

Bay decided to make Transformers: Dark of the Moon in 3D at the urging of James Cameron. Most of the film was shot using Cameron-Pace Group?s 3D Fusion camera rigs, and Bay also worked with Avatar crew members.
A new trailer for Transformers: Dark of the Moon is being released Friday.
